Annual Report

ProMusica Arizona Chorale and Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  Founded in 2003, and incorporated in 2004, PMAZ has achieved resounding success in a very short time, due to the dedication of its members and superb community support.

Mr. Kozacek is an experienced choral and orchestra conductor who in 2003 was contemplating building a community-based music program. ProMusica Arizona Chorale was formed, and starting with just 17 singers, the group rapidly grew to 35 vocalists who performed at the well-received December holiday performances at the Anthem Country Club and Anthem Community Park.  Mr. Kozacek began development of the ProMusica Arizona Orchestra in January 2004, which has grown to a membership of more than 45 musicians.  The chorus has expanded to more than 55 singers.

PMAZ has performed over 50 concerts to over 25,000 audience members, including three consecutive concerts with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra during the "Music in May" concert series at Anthem Community Park.  Fundraising events and fabulous patron support has allowed PMAZ to purchase portable choral risers, sound equipment, and numerous orchestral instruments, enabling PMAZ to expand its mission of bringing music to more venues in the Phoenix North Valley.

In May 2007, PMAZ successfully collaborated with Desert View Bible Church and Fellowship Church in Anthem in presenting Elgar’s Cello Concerto featuring principle cellist Angelyn Foster.  PMAZ has also invited local, regional and national guest artists to share the stage, including classical guitarist Chris Moreno, the Cochise Children’s Choir from Sierra Vista,  Kate Campbell Stevenson from Maryland, and from Puerto Rico, lyric soprano Elizabeth Pacheco Rose.  In the spring of 2008, PMAZ collaborated with the ACNV to create the “Right Brain Train” docent program at Gavillan Peak School, culminating in performances with the third grade classes in “Family Fun Fables & Tall Tales” Concerts.

PMAZ is a proud member of Chorus America, the League of American Orchestras, the Arizona Orchestra Association, Anthem Chamber of Commerce, and a founding member of the Arts Council of the North Valley.
