Cowboys, Country and Copland!
Love Cowboys? Love country? Love Copland's music? Then round up your family, corral your friends and neighbors and come out for an evening of Americana as ProMusica Arizona Chorale and Orchestra fills your evening with the rousing and familiar music of bygone days!
Stomp your feet and clap your hands as PMAZ performs "Stomp Your Foot" and "Buffalo Gals". Close your eyes and listen to the inspiring words of "Cross the Wide Missouri (Shenandoah)". And envision the perseverance of the coal miners and railroad workers as you listen to "Workin'", a medley which includes "Sixteen Tons" and "I've Been Workin" on the Railroad". Imagine days gone by as you enjoy these and other Americana melodies.
The orchestra will perform selections from "Rodeo" and "Billie the Kid" and excite you with "Warrior's Run" by Mosier, a musical rendition of warriors running into battle. Enjoy the great outdoors as you listen to "An Outdoor Overture", then delight in a playful arrangement of "Camptown Races" and "Streets of Laredo" by Bauernschmidt. During intermission, delight your senses with food and drink while the orchestra ensemble provides more music for your listening pleasure!
As an additional treat, the Cochise Children's Choir of Arizona will perform two songs with PMAZ as well as entertain you with songs from one of their own performances. The Cochise Children's Choir began in January, 2001 and has grown into a five-level choir program ranging with student ages from Kindergarten through High School. This is an excellent opportunity to introduce your young ones to the joys of music! For more information on the Cochise Children's Choir, please visit their website at www.cochisechildrenschoir.org/.
